It has a lot of valuable information for novice auction attendees, and a few years ago it was updated and republished. My first book was a how-to guide concerning auctions. I've learned that true art is not about making a lot of money. What was that time in your life like? What experiences from that time do you carry with you today? You lived and worked in Salina from 1998 to 2002. That is the other thing that influences me. I love knowing that my stories have, hopefully, made someone's day a little better or put a smile on their face. I would say there are threads of my real adventures in all my work. At times like these, I would pray for forgiveness of my arrogance and then pray for deliverance, and the prayers were always answered.Īs time passed and I began to write being a bit wiser and less reckless, I realized I had a wealth of experiences to draw from. I recall being stranded in the Arctic Circle in 1997, with our prospects of getting back to civilization anytime soon looking very dire. I pushed things to the limit and often was on the edge of disaster before realizing I may have stepped too far. As a younger man, I searched out adventure and was something of a hardcore thrill-seeker. These experiences have had a profound influence on my work.
